This past Saturday, the city of Saint John, New Brunswick had two full moons.
There was the one in the sky, of course. Then there was a giant, glowing, inflatable moon, suspended above the happy crowd at the second annual Moonlight Bazaar.
Inspired by Brooklyn night markets, the Bazaar brings DJs, dancing, local vendors and delicious food to the port city streets of Saint John. Imagine the vibe of a farmers’ market - with a dance floor - all bathed in moonlight.
And that’s not all. There were skateboarders, a Civilized photobooth (check out the results here), surprise musical performances - and even fire dancers.
Suffice it to say, nearly everyone in town was there. Check out these crowds:
The DJs kept the party going until well into the morning, and the next day it seemed like everyone in Saint John had a giant moon on their Instagram profiles.
By all accounts, the Moonlight Bazaar brought in even more people this year than in its first instalment - and it seems like things are on track to get even bigger in years to come. Stay tuned for more glimpses of the Moonlight Bazaar - and other great Civilized events.
